A 1997 graduate of the Blinn College of Nursing Program in Bryan, Texas, Hughson began her nursing career in Bryan at St. Joseph Regional Health Center, where she held the positions of staff and charge registered nurse in the medical and oncology departments. Upon transferring to the post anesthesia care unit (PACU), again working as a staff RN, she discovered her passion of caring for patients in the postoperative setting. Hughson continued her career as a PACU staff and charge nurse at The Physician's Centre in Bryan and in San Antonio at the Physicians Ambulatory Surgical Centre and Pasteur Plaza Urology Center. After relocating to the Bryan-College Station area, Hughson joined the RCHI staff to assist with the Physician Peer Review Program.
